There could be interior edges/seams where the hide glue, which was used to make the interior parts and adhere them to the shell, turned brown over the past 16 years. It was most likely not visible during or right after the build process and over time the glue dried and that's what you see. If on the lining material, the areas should be able to be cleaned up by trimming with clippers/scissors and/or wiping with a warm damp cloth since the glue is water soluble.
